First Impression:
Growing up on a farm, Galvin (more widely known as Vinny, and to a select few as Galvinny, but only two people in the world are allowed to call him that without a punch to their face) had a lot of time on his hands. This was an equation for disaster for his parents, George and Gail. His older sister Gladys often found him amusing, which Vinny credits their very close relationship to. Gladys understands his quirky ways and he appreciates all her wisdom and advice, very rarely getting upset with her.
Vinny was often found in the rafters of the barn, in the high branches of the trees on the land, hiding under tables, or basically not standing still for more than thirty seconds. He was a very hyper child with a knack for getting hurt, and had two broken arms, a fractured leg, three concussions, and now his knuckles pop funny for when he'd accidentally punched a brick wall, by the time he was eleven and sent off to Hogwarts with his sister Gladys. The Gudgeon parents were very relieved by this, as the first Owls home from school were not about Vinny getting into trouble or getting hurt, but they were full of praise at how helpful he was and the high marks he achieved.
It seemed that Hogwarts calmed Vinny, but the second he was back home he was back to his rambunctious ways. Maybe it was the fear of stepping out of line in front of a professor, or having one of his peers think he was odd, but the only time he acted out was on the comfort of his own farm. This became even easier when his little cousin Davy moved in with them the summer before his third year. It was like Vinny had a life-size action figure to play with, constantly dragging Davy around for misadventures and sending him into dark corners of the forest (which was really their backyard, with nothing scarier than a chipmunk lurking in its shadows) before him. Davy didn't appreciate this at first, but the two soon developed a bond like that of brothers. When Davy was Sorted into Gryffindor, Vinny found himself very upset and often followed his cousin around as much as he could to make sure that the Gryffindors (who, Vinny will admit, scared the daylights out of him) didn't bother him. Vinny was there seconds after Davy got smacked by the Whomping Willow, and for the first time in his school career let out the loudest and nastiest string of curses (cuss words and hexes) at the students who'd dared his little cousin to touch the trunk of the tree.

History
He made the Quidditch team as a Beater in his five year, the same year as making Prefect. The year before his sister Gladys had been Head Girl, so that was Vinny's' goal, to be Head Boy. It would sure be something, especially now with Davy being the heir to the Gudgeon fortune. The idea of that hadn't really bothered Vinny until Davy's parents died, and the fact that Davy was the more 'important' grandson sunk in. This gave Vinny the drive to do all he could to impress his grandfather, one of the most stubborn people on the planet, with lots of achievements and praise, even if this meant shoving Davy out of the limelight. Vinny never meant to make Davy feel inferior or to give him any sort of concerns; in actuality, he, to this day, thinks Davy is the better grandson and everything he does is still done in an attempt to get approval from his grandfather.
In his seventh year he was indeed named Head Boy and quidditch captain. Vinny couldn't be prouder of himself, and while that blew up his ego a lot, he was brought back to earth by Alecto Carrow. What started off as a fling (with very sexy results), turned into a tumultuous relationship of many highs and lows. She wasn't very trusting and all Vinny did was give, so by the end of the year they were on a rocky path to failure. Breaking up the summer after graduation, Vinny's glad he at least got to experience love before leaving Hogwarts.
That summer Vinny, on a whim, decided to try out for the Chudley Cannons, who were holding an open tryouts. Encouraged by Davy, Vinny went out and did his best—-it earned him a reserve spot on the team, which quickly turned into a starting position when the Cannons' regular Seeker broke his leg and decided to retire mid-season. He'd always been a natural Seeker; not because of his size, but with the quick way he can handle the broomstick and the calculating manner he searches for the snitch. Having Davy throw apples to him in their backyard when they were younger helped, says Vinny.
Vinny fell in love with a perky, happy woman named Marlene McKinnon. Their personalities melded beautifully, the two being both naturally bubbly, optimistic people. They were dating for nearly a year before he proposed, and had planned on a winter wedding. But before they could make it to the altar, Marlene and her family were killed by Orpheus Travers in a completely random death eater attack. Vinny was devastated, and unwillingly to face his life without Marlene, fled to Canada, as they had recently offered him a quidditch contract. A year later, he returned because of an invitation to join the Order of the Phoenix, and is still attempting to get his life back on track.

Overview
Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and governs the head. Positive characteristics of Aries include courage, enthusiasm, idealism, charisma, quick wits, an ability to "think on one's feet," leadership potential, exuberant energy, zeal, and innocence. Negative traits include selfishness, tactlessness, egocentrism, an inability to save money, impetuousness, a hot temper, combativeness, oversensitivity, carelessness, and cruelty.
House-Specific Traits
The Gryffindor Aries is extremely idealistic, and has a tendency to fight hard for many causes - the more lost, the better. Gryffindors born under this sign will also have very short fuses, and can be expected to fight regularly with other students, over ethical questions or over anything else that makes a good excuse. Since Mars is a planet that encourages war games and competition and bursts of hard physical activity, there may be many Quidditch players born under these aspects. A Gryffindor Aries is an open book; a truth potion would never be needed on one, because they are hopelessly honest and open. These wizards will display uncanny charisma and leadership ability, and will be among the most popular within their class.
