Personality
Ryan is…slightly disturbed. He hates being a Hufflepuff and can’t stand people in general (except for Tim, he’s okay. Most of the time). He’s angry all of the time and hates being at Hogwarts. He’s incredibly antisocial, but only so much. He does like interacting with people, but hates how stupid most of them are and usually regrets talking to people. He doesn’t give a fuck about most everything, especially class work (he does the bare minimum to keep from being kicked out, but nothing really more).
Ryan really can’t stand Muggles. If he could name one thing he hated more in the world, it would definitely be Muggles. They’re disgusting and like animals; barbarians and doesn’t think Muggleborns are much better, except that they have magic, and is barely enough to actually be a redeemable quality. He hates people questioning him too. He has his reasons and you don’t need to know anything more than that.

History
here was a time when Ryan didn’t hate muggles, it was before he knew he was a wizard though. He grew up with just his mother who didn’t really want a child, but was forced to raise Ryan with very little help (except for her neighbors that took Ryan in when needed). She wasn’t a very good mother, but she was his, and even if she was an angry alcoholic with too many boyfriends. Ryan hated her boyfriends, who were mostly users and abusive to both her and Ryan. He got a letter to Hogwarts at eleven and it was explained to him what Muggleborns were and how he could go to this school and study magic. His mother thought it was a good idea, and even though he didn’t want to leave her, he went.
Ryan was sorted into Hufflepuff, even though he really didn’t want to. Just because he was quiet and he didn’t want to deal with other children didn’t mean he wanted to be sorted with those poxy do-gooders. But he made do, even though he hated not being able to talk to his mother. He really started hating muggles when he returned home to find his very pregnant mother being beaten by one of her boyfriends. Something snapped in Ryan and a fire was started. He doesn’t really understand what happened but he was rescued and taken to the Ministry where he found out both his mother and the other man hadn’t made it out. He was sent to an orphanage (a children’s home they called it) but they should have just let him out on the street.
He blamed that muggle for all of this happening. If that man hadn’t been hurting his mother, then nothing bad would have come of it. He would have had his mother and maybe a brother, but no, he was shunted to an orphanage and put on scholarship at Hogwarts. Ryan wouldn’t ever think of committing suicide, it’s for the weak and Ryan is anything but weak. After he came back for his second year, he latched onto Tim as his best mate, even if he hated people, he didn’t want to be all alone. Plus, he was less of a pansy than their other roommates (the pretty boy and the idiot, as Ryan calls them) and so that made him infinitely cooler to hang out with. He doesn’t prod or ask stupid questions either, just letting Ryan be himself.

Hogwarts should always have a Hufflepuff Capricorn somewhere on the administration, to make sure all affairs are actually in order (all those head-in-the-clouds creative types on the faculty; good heavens, where would Hogwarts be if there was no way of balancing them with down to earth perspective?)
